I attended Freyberg from 2020 to 2024.

Some of my most memorable experiences were the various trips I went on, like the skiing trip, kayaking trip, and the basketball tournaments. One experience that will stay with me for life was being part of the Hospital Gateway Programme. I got to observe surgeries and work alongside doctors, which had a huge influence on my decision to study medicine.

My favourite subject was Sport and Exercise Science, closely followed by Biology. I enjoyed both equally, but Sport and Exercise Science had more hands-on, fun experiences, whereas Biology was more focused on bookwork. Still, I really enjoyed them both.

Throughout school, I was involved in MANY extracurricular activities and clubs. There were four main ones I stuck with: playing basketball for school (and rep teams from 2020–2023), being head of lighting and sound technology, serving as Head Boy in 2024, and training in Taekwondo outside of school. I recently graded to black belt (1st Dan), which has been a lifelong goal and major achievement for me.

Since graduating from Freyberg, my plan has been to get into medical school. I'm currently doing a pre-med course at the University of Auckland, studying Biomedical Science. Hopefully, if I do well this year, I’ll earn a spot in med school next year. If not, my backup plan is to complete a Bachelor of Biomedical Science and apply again through the graduate entry pathway.

So far, I am enjoying life in the Halls - studying and making new friends!
