The Bronze winning team and their supportive teachers

Last week The Gas Hub sponsored team, Kia Kaha from Freyberg High School came third in the H2GP World Championships in California. An incredible race for the team who were a wild card entry into the championship and had never raced competitively before.

The team consisted of Year 11 students Lucas Brown Samuelsson, Connor Hughes, Sam Lynch, Kyle Mudgway, Oliver Turc, Miah van der Sloot and Year 12 student Jake McKenzie along with teachers Mr Andre Jacobs and Mr Paul Emmerson.

The teams strategy to maintain a steady pace over the race, ensuring they had enough hydrogen to last the six hours proved to work! Congratulations Kia Kaha!

A HUGE thank you to all the sponsors that enabled the team to get there.
