Many of you may remember Zoe Brooks, wife to Principal Peter Brooks and former Head of Drama at Freyberg High School. Zoe left a lasting legacy with those she taught and within the wider community.
Below is the obituary and notice of her funeral this week. Feel free to leave any comments of kind words or memories and these will be passed on.
Passed away peacefully on Thursday 19 February 2026, aged 77 years.
Dearly loved wife of Peter. Beloved Mum of Greg and Emily; Step-Mum of Damian, Olivia and Sarah. Much loved Granna to 12 grandchildren.

Heartfelt thanks to the staff of Woodlands of Palmerston for their love and care. In lieu of flowers, donations to greenpeace.org would be much appreciated.
A service for Zoe will be held in the Cotton's Chapel, 697 Main Street, Palmerston North, on Thursday 26 February 2026, at 1.00pm, followed by private cremation.
